Luol Deng Does Think Bulls Can Have Three Twenty Point Scorers
Bulls must be very pleased with their performance in the last two games. They have had not one but three 20 point scores and as usual they were Ben Gordon, Luol Deng and Kirk Hinrich.
In a recent game against Milwaukee, which the Bulls won, Gordon scored 48 points which is his highest in professional basketball. In the same game, Michael Redd of Milwaukee scored 52 points. This is just the eighth time in the last 30 years the two players from opposing teams had a combined score of at least 100 points.
However, Deng does not think that all the three top scorers of Bull can average 20 points for a season some day. But then Deng is the same player who told Gordon during the game against Milwaukee to stop sharing the ball. So, he might not be the best judge.
Deng said he told Gordon to stop sharing the ball and to shoot himself because everything that Gordon was shooting in that game was going in and he wanted Gordon to score 50 points if possible.
In the first quarter Gordon scored 20, getting 7 of his 9 attempts and Bulls came from 18 points to win the game in the last 9 minutes 25 seconds. After the game, Gordon said that he has learned to be aggressive even if he misses a few shots and automatically things will fall into place.
The only team on the NBA that nearly has three 20 point scorers is Washington with Gilbert Arenas, who has 28.8 points per game, Caron Butler with 20 and Antawn Jamison with 19.3 points per game. For the Bulls, Gordon has 21.6 points per game, Deng 19 points and Hinrich 16.1 points.
